Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on 13 December 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift is a pop/country songwriter and singer for more than 20 years. Her tales about young love and heartbreak have gained her widespread popularity during the 21st Century. Swift showed an interest in music at an early age and she progressed quickly from roles in children's theatre until her first performance before the crowd of a thousand. At the age of 11, she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match and next year, she began playing guitar and began writing songs. Drawing inspiration from musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original music that was a reflection of her experience of tween alienation. Swift's family moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was 13, so that she could spend longer pursuing the country music label in Nashville.
